The National Forest Teaching School has been working collaboratively with six other Teaching Schools across Stoke & Staffordshire, after securing government funding through the Strategic School Improvement Fund (SSIF).

Our SSIF project is supporting 27 Schools in Stoke and Staffordshire to improve their progress outcomes in English at Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 4. The support provided has been tailored to meet the needs of the individual schools who are part of the project and is delivered primarily by Specialist Leaders of Education. Each school involved in the project has an entitlement to 30 bespoke support days and will have access to network meetings and Professional development opportunities. The project has provided significant professional development for outstanding English practitioners within our alliance and is evidence of the opportunities provided through collaboration with the Teaching School.

Announcing John Taylor Teaching School Hub

We are pleased to announce that John Taylor has been designated as one of 11 Teaching School Hubs in the West Midlands to be operational from September 2021, serving schools in East Staffordshire, Tamworth, Lichfield, Cannock, North Warwickshire, Nuneaton and Bedworth. As John Taylor Teaching School Hub we will continue to offer ITE and CPD provision and we will still offer our Appropriate Body Services. In addition, we will be delivering the Early Career Framework across our region and a full suite of NPQs, including the new specialist NPQs.

We will shortly be launching our new website and will advise as soon as this is up and running. Exciting times!
