The NFTS has launched its exciting in house Aspiring to Senior Leadership programme this term. Aspirant senior leaders have attended an introductory session, completing a leadership audit identifying their own strengths and areas for development, prior to undertaking a leadership secondment in one of our partner schools. Delegates will have the opportunity to participate in generic leadership activities as well as focusing on their own preferred area of interest, whether that be teaching and learning, pastoral or Post 16 for example. Participants in the programme will have an identified coach form their own school to support them and have the opportunity to apply and be interviewed for a Senior Leadership role prior to completion of the programme. We are already looking forward to a second cohort later in the year.

If you would like details of the programme or would like to host one of the participants for their secondment please contact Jeanette Taylor-Perks:

Announcing John Taylor Teaching School Hub

We are pleased to announce that John Taylor has been designated as one of 11 Teaching School Hubs in the West Midlands to be operational from September 2021, serving schools in East Staffordshire, Tamworth, Lichfield, Cannock, North Warwickshire, Nuneaton and Bedworth. As John Taylor Teaching School Hub we will continue to offer ITE and CPD provision and we will still offer our Appropriate Body Services. In addition, we will be delivering the Early Career Framework across our region and a full suite of NPQs, including the new specialist NPQs.

We will shortly be launching our new website and will advise as soon as this is up and running. Exciting times!
